The agency warned people about Christ Mercy Land Delivery Ministries, led by Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin, for pretending to be associated with NAFDAC.
According to the Director General, Prof Mojisola Adeyeye, the products being advertised and sold are not approved by NAFDAC. NAFDAC wants to warn the public about a religious group called Christ Mercy Land Delivery Ministries that is using NAFDAC’s name to trick people. They have received complaints about Senior Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin from this group in Delta State selling Miracle Water and Miracle Soap that they claim can heal and perform miracles. The Minister even demonstrated the use of these products on social media to show how they can supposedly help with barrenness. He said that women who used the soap would have twins. He told his followers that the soap is approved by NAFDAC. This made people start coming to the office to check if the claims were true.
The petitioners gave NAFDAC several products from the Spiritual Ministry to check if their claims were true. The products included Miracle & Healing Water, River Jordan Water, Miracle Water from The Pool of Bethsaida, A New Beginning Mount Camel Miracle Water, Water of Life, Miracle Water from The Pool of Bethsaida (1L), A New Beginning Pool of Bethsaida Water, and Father Smelled Perfume. The agency contacted the Delta State Coordinator after receiving the petitions to confirm if there were any dealings with the Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministries and their products at the Delta State Office. The Coordinator was told to go to the Ministry to check if the claims in the petitions were true and to take action on the production facility where the Miracle water and other products are made. The State Coordinator secretly purchased the Miracle Water (25cl) for 3000 naira from the Ministries and took pictures.
On Wednesday, August 14th, 2024, the State Coordinator of Delta State went to Mercy Land Ministry and talked to the Head of Service – Mr. Ogunleye Fufeyin and the Chief Security Officer. They said they didn’t make Miracle and Healing Water or Soap, even though there was a receipt showing they bought it. They said the only thing that belonged to them was the Logo and address on the label, not the product itself. The HOS said they only have a special pool of Bethsaida water that is both spiritual and man-made. They asked for some time to talk to other staff members. After 30 minutes, the HOS came back and didn’t want to help, telling them to talk to the CSO instead. On August 27th, 2024, a group from NAFDAC and the Federal Task Force on Counterfeit and Fake Drugs and Unwholesome Processed Foods went to the Ministry to start looking into where some products were bought or made. They wanted to collect samples for testing, but the officials there did not help them.
The team sent letters asking the officials to come on August 28th, but they didn’t show up. Instead, the company sent a legal paper to NAFDAC Headquarters in Abuja on August 28th, 2024. They asked for more time to get their documents ready and said they would come back on September 3rd, 2024. The Agency told the Prophet to go to the NAFDAC Office in Asaba by the 29th for the investigation. The officials from Christ Mercy Land Delivery Ministries were supposed to go to the Investigation and Enforcement office in Asaba for the investigation, but they didn’t come. Instead, on September 3rd, 2024, they sent some documents and didn’t ask for more time to report. It mentioned that the faith organization submitted a document to the NAFDAC Office on September 3rd, stating that they had made a production contract agreement with Globod Table Water in Delta State without informing the NAFDAC State Office.
NAFDAC declared this action as illegal based on the current commercial production guidelines. NAFDAC Investigation and Enforcement have sealed the Globod Table Water factory to prevent the production, sale, and promotion of unregistered and unsafe Miracle Water using a Fake NAFDAC Registration It is evident that Christ Mercy Land Delivery Ministries, KM 5, is not prepared to be investigated for making and promoting miracle products that may be fake, harmful, or not officially approved.
