_Tinubu Deserves Second Term, His Reforms Are Transforming Nigeria_

The Deputy Chief of Staff to the Edo State Government, Hon. Pius Alile, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as bold and courageous economic reforms, saying the President deserves a second term to consolidate the gains of his administration.

Alile stated this while delivering his keynote address at the Tinubu Touch Bearers (TTB) Summit, held at the Nigeria House in New York, United States, where he highlighted the impact of the Federal Government’s increased allocations to states and the ongoing infrastructural transformation across Edo State.

According to him, the resources accruing to Edo State under the current Federal Government have been judiciously deployed by Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo to drive massive infrastructural development and improve the welfare of the people.

He noted that Edo State is witnessing an unprecedented wave of development, including the simultaneous construction of two major flyovers, describing the projects as historic milestones in the state’s infrastructure development.

“Today, our schools are taking new shapes, massive road construction is ongoing across the three senatorial districts, and modern agricultural equipment is being deployed to boost farming and food production across the state,” Alile said.

He further stated that the Okpebholo administration had created employment opportunities for more than 8,000 people in the public sector, adding that the increased resources available to the state had enabled the government to embark on projects capable of directly improving the lives of Edo citizens.

Alile also commended President Tinubu’s intervention in the education sector, particularly the student loan initiative, which he said had created a pathway for children from less-privileged families to pursue tertiary education without being constrained by financial difficulties.

Turning to the Federal Government’s infrastructure agenda, Alile highlighted major projects such as the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway and the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway, describing them as strategic investments capable of strengthening economic integration, trade and national development.

He applauded President Tinubu for the courage to remove the fuel subsidy, arguing that the policy had created room for increased financial resources to be shared among the federal, state and local governments.

According to him, previous administrations were often compelled to borrow to meet recurrent obligations, including the payment of salaries, whereas the current administration has prioritised reforms aimed at strengthening government revenue and stabilising the economy.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserves commendation for taking difficult decisions in the national interest. His reforms are laying the foundation for a stronger and more sustainable Nigerian economy,” Alile stated.

He added that the reforms had also helped to restore confidence in the Nigerian economy, noting that investors were increasingly looking at Nigeria as a destination for investment and long-term economic opportunities.

Alile therefore called on Nigerians in the Diaspora and at home to support the Renewed Hope Agenda, insisting that President Tinubu deserves the opportunity to continue his administration beyond 2027.

He said a second term would provide the President with the opportunity to consolidate ongoing reforms, complete major infrastructure projects and further strengthen the Nigerian economy.

The TTB Summit, held under the theme “Renewed Hope in Action: From Diaspora to Development,” brought together supporters and stakeholders committed to promoting the Renewed Hope Agenda and mobilising Diaspora support for national development.
