London, United Kingdom, hosted a landmark gathering of Edo sons and daughters in the diaspora as the Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, led a strategic engagement focused on showcasing the achievements of his administration and strengthening support for President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The programme provided a platform for networking, collaboration, and meaningful discussions on the future of Edo State. Governor Okpebholo highlighted the developmental strides recorded under his administration’s SHINE Agenda, including ongoing infrastructure projects across the three senatorial districts, investments in agriculture, improvements in education, job creation, and the revival of Edo Line Transport Services.
Participants also took part in an interactive question-and-answer session, where they engaged the Governor on governance, investment opportunities, and the role of the diaspora in accelerating Edo’s economic growth. The discussions reinforced the importance of stronger partnerships between the state government and Edo indigenes living abroad.
A major highlight of the event was the official unveiling of the Project 2.5 Million Votes Campaign in support of the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections. The campaign is aimed at mobilising widespread grassroots and diaspora support for the President while advancing the objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
In a symbolic moment, Engr. Edobor Michael Uyiosa joined Governor Okpebholo on stage for the official unveiling of the campaign. He described the opportunity as a great honour and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote good governance, political unity, and sustainable development.
The event ended with participants reaffirming their resolve to work beyond geographical boundaries in building a more prosperous Edo State while supporting President Tinubu’s vision for a stronger, more united, and economically vibrant Nigeria.
