Abraham Lincoln once remarked in his second inaugural address, “Maybe if I knew more history, I wouldn’t despair so much for the present.” This sentiment resonates deeply with the current political landscape in Edo State.
Today, more than ever, Edo State demands leadership rooted in empathy and political will—not just the polished CV of a political “wannabe” backed by a godfather. Despite being the 9th highest in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in Nigeria, nearly half of Edo’s population languishes in multidimensional poverty, making the South-South region one of the worst-hit in the country.
Our state’s social infrastructure, critical to driving the local economy, has been neglected. For over seven years, the Edo State government, under PDP leadership, has failed to account for the local government allocations intended for our 18 LGAs, leaving these funds warehoused in a mysterious JAAC account. This dire situation calls for urgent intervention.
Recognizing this need, the Edo APC has shifted from the usual political figures who have failed to deliver to a new breed of vibrant, organized, and visionary leaders. Among these pathfinders stand Senator Monday Okpebholo and Hon. Dennis Idahosa—leaders who embody the empathy, focus, and determination required to steer Edo State towards progress.
The 2024 Edo State elections will hinge on the political strategies, unity, and internal cohesion of the APC. The state’s electorate is eager for genuine leaders who can deliver good governance, build bridges across our diverse ethnicities, and bring about an extraordinary infrastructural revolution.
Senator Monday Okpebholo and Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa represent this transformative leadership. They are men of action, not empty promises—leaders whose political uniqueness and ability to deliver have left even their closest observers in awe.
The duo of Senator Monday Okpebholo and Hon. Dennis Idahosa is exactly what Edo State needs to drive empathetic governance that addresses the real pain points of our people. They have proven their mettle in national elections and have delivered for the party and their constituencies.
The urgency of the present demands a paradigm shift—a move towards leaders who are known political assets. That future is now, embodied in the persons of Senator Monday Okpebholo and Hon. Dennis Idahosa.
It’s MONDEN o’clock, the winning strategy for Edo 2024. Let’s unite and support this duo for Governor and Deputy Governor in the forthcoming September 2024 elections. Let’s embrace the paradigm shift.
