Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence, has said there will be a strong military operation to stop the bandits causing trouble in Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, and Kebbi states.
The ministry’s Director of Public Information, Henshaw Ogugbike, shared this information in a statement. Matawalle is really worried about the ongoing insecurity in the North West area. He said that the Chief of Defence Staff and other high-ranking military officials are going to Sokoto to help with the joint military operations. The minister promised that the government will use all the resources needed to get rid of the dangerous bandit leader Bello Turji and his gang. They were the ones who shared videos of a Nigerian military vehicle stuck in a flooded area in Kwashabawa, Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State. We must stop these criminals and terrorists from keeping our people captive. It’s time for them to be stopped. We will destroy their hideouts and bring peace back to our neighborhoods.
The Defence Minister will be on the ground with the service chiefs in Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, and Kebbi. He promised that the military will do everything possible to get rid of the criminals in the area. The Minister asked people to stay alert and work together with the security forces. He said that the government’s main focus is on keeping Nigerians safe. Matawalle promised that they will keep working until peace is back in the region.
