Hon. Matthew Iduoriyekemwen, the former Director General of the Asue/Ogie Campaign Council during last year’s Edo State governorship election, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
His resignation follows his recent warnings to the party against participating in the upcoming by-election for vacant positions in the Edo Central senatorial districts and Ovia Federal Constituency.
In a letter dated July 17, 2025, addressed to the PDP Chairman of Ward Five in Ikpoba-Okha local government area, Iduoriyekemwen explained that his decision was influenced by recent developments within the party at both the state and national levels. The former NDDC Commissioner, who has chosen not to reveal his future political plans, mentioned his intentions to focus on his personal life and business.
The letter stated, “This is not a hasty or emotionally driven decision, but one made after careful consideration and a genuine wish to uphold my personal values and integrity. I am grateful to the party leadership and members of Ward 5, Ikpoba-Okha LGA, for their support over the years. I wish the PDP the best in its future endeavors.”
