In a significant demonstration of unity and shared purpose, Edo State played host to a high-level gathering of All Progressives Congress (APC) governors who convened for a strategic meeting aimed at advancing national development and deepening collaborative governance under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
The meeting, held in the historic city of Benin, brought together progressive leaders from across the federation to deliberate on critical issues affecting governance, security, economic growth, and intergovernmental synergy. The host, Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo, described the convergence as a privilege and a testament to the central role Edo State plays in the evolving political landscape of Nigeria.
The closed-door sessions focused on practical strategies to boost subnational performance, improve service delivery, and foster stronger coordination between the federal and state levels. Particular emphasis was laid on inclusive policy implementation, infrastructural development, and economic reforms to uplift citizens’ welfare across the country.
Speaking after the session, several governors expressed optimism about the direction of the APC and commended Governor Okpebholo for his leadership, hospitality, and commitment to the progressive ideals of the party.
The meeting is expected to culminate in a joint communiqué outlining resolutions and next steps that will shape inter-state cooperation and reaffirm the party’s dedication to transforming Nigeria in line with the Renewed Hope blueprint.
