The Osun State Government has introduced a complimentary train service to help residents return home in time for the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir festival.
According to a flyer about the initiative, the service will be available from Thursday, May 5, to Tuesday, May 10.
The ‘homecoming train’ will depart from the Iddo train terminal in Lagos at 10 a.m. on Thursday, heading to Osogbo. For the return journey from Osogbo to Lagos, the train will leave the following Tuesday at the same hour.
This initiative is designed to make travel easier for state residents returning home for the celebration.
This is not the first instance of the state government offering free train services for those living in other areas of the Southwest, allowing them to participate in Sallah festivities.
The provision of free train services has been a practice by the state government since 2017.
