In a bid to galvanize more women into leadership positions within the All Progressives Congress (APC), the party’s National Woman Leader, Dr. Mrs. Mary Alile, held a strategic meeting with female aspirants across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) ahead of the upcoming local government elections scheduled for later this year.
The closed-door session brought together both chairmanship and councillorship aspirants under the APC umbrella, as Dr. Alile emphasized the critical role women must play in deepening democratic governance and grassroots development.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Dr. Alile said, “Today is about encouragement, empowerment, and strategic readiness. We are not just preparing for elections, we are preparing leaders. The APC is proud to support competent women ready to serve.”
She reaffirmed the party’s commitment to gender inclusion and urged the aspirants to remain focused, united, and diligent in their campaigns. According to her, women’s participation in politics is not just a right but a necessity for national growth.
