Hon. Pius Alile , Deputy Chief of Staff to the Edo State Governor, on Saturday represented the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, at the 3rd Graduation Ceremony of RACAi International School, held in Benin City.
Delivering the keynote address on behalf of the Deputy Governor, Hon. Alile commended the Chairman and Founder of RACAi International School, Dr. Charles Osazuwa, for establishing a world-class educational institution that upholds high academic and moral standards. He praised the school’s commitment to excellence and its significant role in shaping future leaders.
Hon. Alile used the occasion to highlight the remarkable achievements of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s administration, especially in the education sector. He noted that education remains a central pillar of the administration’s development agenda, citing a substantial increase in subvention to Ambrose Alli University from ₦45 million to ₦500 million monthly.
He also announced that the government has undertaken the massive recruitment of teachers to fill manpower gaps in public schools and is actively renovating educational infrastructure across the state. To further support students, he revealed that the state has approved a ₦1 billion bursary scheme to assist indigent students in tertiary institutions.
In addition, Hon. Alile disclosed that the state government has returned certain mission and community schools to their original owners, a move aimed at restoring their historical identity and improving educational outcomes through better management and community involvement.
Speaking on national efforts to improve access to education, Hon. Alile lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda,” particularly the implementation of the Students Loan Scheme targeted at tertiary education students. He described the initiative as a game-changer that will ensure no Nigerian student is denied access to higher education due to financial constraints.
He concluded by congratulating the graduating students and urged them to remain focused, disciplined, and determined in their future pursuits. He also reaffirmed the Edo State Government’s unwavering commitment to creating a conducive environment for educational growth and excellence.
