The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has concluded arrangements to commence the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise across the country in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
In a statement shared on its official X handle on Friday, INEC announced that online pre-registration will open on August 18, 2025, through its official portal: cvr.inecnigeria.org. Physical registration at INEC offices in all local government areas and designated centers will follow, starting on August 25, 2025.
The exercise will be conducted Mondays to Fridays, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm daily.
INEC added that the CVR, which was earlier held in Anambra State ahead of the forthcoming governorship election, will now be rolled out nationwide. Citizens who were unable to register during the Anambra phase are encouraged to participate in this new nationwide exercise.
