President Tinubu arrives Beijing on a five-day official visit to China.

He is coming from Dubai, where he had a layover after leaving Abuja on Thursday. On Thursday, the Presidential spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, announced that President Tinubu will stop in the United Arab Emirates for a short time before going to Beijing for an important visit to China.

The President’s trip to China is focused on building economic relationships and getting investments for Nigeria. President Tinubu will be meeting with President Xi Jinping of China during his trip. They will be signing agreements to strengthen cooperation between their countries. The focus will be on areas like the environment, farming, satellite technology, media, ocean resources, and national planning. The meeting will also give them a chance to talk about shared interests, such as working together on economic projects, security, and global challenges. Ngelale stated that the President will meet with President Xi Jinping of China. They will sign several MOUs focusing on cooperation in areas like the green economy, agriculture, satellite technology, media enterprise development, and national planning. The two leaders will also talk about mutual interests in the economy, as well as national, regional, and international security.

 

The President is planning to visit top Chinese companies like Huawei Technologies and the China Rail and Construction Corporation (CRCC) to help finish the high-speed rail line from Ibadan to Abuja as soon as possible. President Tinubu will also have important meetings with the CEOs of 10 big Chinese companies, who have more than $3 trillion USD in assets. These companies work in different areas like technology, oil, aluminum, ports, finance, and satellites.

According to Ajuri, the visit will bring both short-term and long-term advantages to Nigeria’s economy and its people, showing the President’s dedication to economic growth. President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to travel to Beijing, China in early September for meetings and activities that will benefit Nigeria now and in the future. During the trip, he will visit two important Chinese companies, Huawei Technologies and the China Rail and Construction Corporation (CRCC). This is to help Mr. President achieve one of his main goals, which is finishing the high-speed rail line from Ibadan to Abuja. After that, the President will meet with 10 CEOs from big Chinese companies to talk about their businesses, which are worth over $3 trillion. They work in different areas like technology, oil, aluminum, ports, finance, and more.

The 2024 FOCAC Summit will be in Beijing from September 4 to September 6. The upcoming conference has the theme of “Working Together to Advance Modernization and Create a Strong China-Africa Community with a Shared Future.” The event is important, as leaders from China and Africa will come together to talk about modernization and building a strong China-Africa community with a shared future.

President Tinubu, who is the Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, will attend the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit with other African leaders. He will speak on behalf of the region and discuss important topics that are of interest to both China and Africa. Additionally, the President will take part in discussions about peace and security, where he will give Nigeria’s perspective on security challenges in the region and continent. Ngelale said, “The President will then attend the FOCAC Summit, where many African leaders will meet with Chinese leaders to discuss important issues.”
At the FOCAC Summit, President Bola Tinubu will speak on behalf of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government. He will address peace and security in the region and Africa as the President of Nigeria. The President aims to achieve positive outcomes for the Nigerian economy and its people through this engagement. He is focused on delivering results that justify any expenses incurred during the trip.
