Stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Edo State have inaugurated a committee to oversee membership registration and revalidation across the state.

The newly formed committee will collaborate with the party’s state coalition to ensure a smooth and peaceful process. Speaking after the stakeholders’ meeting, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, former APC National Chairman and now a key ADC figure, revealed that the gathering aimed to welcome political groups seeking alignment with the ADC.

Oyegun emphasized that the registration and revalidation drive would help spread the coalition’s message to every part of Edo, in close cooperation with the existing party leadership. “I believe our message has been widely received. Soon, the mere mention of ADC will resonate powerfully across Edo State,” he said.

He added that the process was designed to be convenient for ordinary citizens and expressed confidence in the party’s revival. Reflecting on past political events, Oyegun remarked, “Success isn’t about never falling. We admitted our past mistakes—as Prof. Osunbor acknowledged—and we’ve returned to the struggle with clarity and purpose. We removed a clueless government, only to install something even worse. Now, we’re determined not to fail again.”

Also speaking, former Edo State Governor Senator Oserheimen Osunbor lamented the state of national governance, stating that many Nigerians were dissatisfied. He noted that the coalition, which spans various political affiliations, was created to uphold true multi-party democracy in Nigeria.

The meeting was attended by prominent political figures including Senators Roland Owie and Ehigie Uzamere, among others.
