As Nigeria’s Super Falcons gear up for their upcoming match at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, former presidential candidate and Labour Party leader, Mr. Peter Obi, has expressed his strong support for the team.
In a message posted on his official Facebook page, Obi commended the Super Falcons for their outstanding performance throughout the tournament, calling them “the pride of Africa and the heartbeat of Nigeria.”
“You have represented the hopes, dreams, and pride of an entire nation with remarkable courage and skill during the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations,” Obi remarked.
He recognized the team not only for their football talent but also for exemplifying resilience, unity, and an unyielding spirit that embodies the true essence of Nigeria.
“As you take the field tonight in Morocco, remember that you are not alone. You carry the aspirations of millions, the strength of a nation, and the unbreakable Naija spirit,” he emphasized.
The former governor of Anambra State, who was the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, urged all Nigerians to support the team collectively and with hope.
“We are with you — united, steadfast, and proud. Go forth and win, Super Falcons. Bring home the trophy!” he urged.
