Alile Grants Scholarships to Outstanding Students, Praised for Integrity and Commitment to Education

In a heartwarming ceremony held today, the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Edo State Governor, Hon. Pius Alile, presented cheques to the champions of the Independent Television and Radio (ITV) 2025 Inter-School Competition, fulfilling a promise he made to sponsor the academic pursuits of the winners.

Celebrating Excellence: Quiz, Essay, and Debate Winners Honoured

The honourees of the prestigious academic event were:

Miss Ighotomare Victory of Unified International School, winner of the Quiz Competition

Oghogho Osatohamwen from Divine Pattern High School, winner of the Essay Competition

Miss Ezema Praise of Cherry Land Royal School, who emerged as the Debate Champion

Hon. Alile not only presented monetary cheques to the winners but also announced the fulfillment of his pledge to sponsor each of them on a scholarship from their current classes up to university level.

Organisers Commend Alile’s Integrity and Support

Representing the organisers, Mr. Sunny Duke Okosun of ITV expressed deep appreciation to Hon. Alile, describing him as a rare politician whose words are as good as gold.

“Unlike many politicians who say one thing and do another, Hon. Alile is a man of his word. Just last year, he awarded bursaries of ₦15 million to several tertiary students across Edo State,” he noted.

Hon. Alile Applauds ITV and Highlights Government’s Educational Drive

Reacting to the accolades, Hon. Pius Alile thanked ITV for initiating such a laudable program that promotes academic excellence and youth empowerment.

He further emphasized the Edo State Government’s ongoing strides in education under the leadership of Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo.

“Just recently, ₦1 billion was released as bursary support for Edo State students. In addition, the subvention to Ambrose Alli University has been increased from ₦45 million to a whopping ₦500 million. Several schools have been newly constructed, and more upgrades are underway.”

Parents and Schools Shower Praises on Alile

Parents and school representatives of the awardees expressed heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Alile for his generous and inspiring gesture. They offered prayers for his continued strength, wisdom, and divine favour in his leadership journey.
