Three of Nigeria’s leading music stars, Burna Boy, Davido, and Wizkid, are facing criticism from the social media commentator VeryDarkMan for showcasing their extravagant lifestyles while the country struggles economically.

In a viral clip, VeryDarkMan expressed concern over their recent multi-billion Naira car acquisitions, implying they lack awareness of the challenges faced by everyday Nigerians.

“I saw the news that Burna Boy purchased a N3.5 billion car, and the same day, Davido acquired a vehicle worth over N1 billion. They keep doing this,” he remarked.

“My question to Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido is: Are you not aware of the situation in your country? You’re not in government, but I feel compelled to say something.”

This backlash coincides with Burna Boy’s purchase of a new McLaren Sienna, priced at an astonishing N3.5 billion, and Davido’s recent acquisition of a car valued at over N1 billion.

There is a divide among fans and critics regarding what some view as excessive displays of wealth during a period marked by inflation, rising fuel prices, and high youth unemployment in Nigeria.
