The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has announced a slight reduction in Nigeria’s headline inflation rate, which fell to 23.71 percent in April 2025, down from 24.23 percent in March.
The Bureau provided this update in its Consumer Price Index (CPI) report released on Thursday.
The agency noted that the headline inflation rate for April 2025 showed a decrease of 0.52% compared to March 2025.
Additionally, the month-on-month headline inflation rate in April 2025 was recorded at 1.86%, which is 2.04% lower than the 3.90% rate from March 2025.
This indicates that the rate of increase in the average price level for April 2025 is less than that of March 2025.
