Lady Mechanic Sandra Aguebor MFR Robert Kokoma, a trailblazer in every sense, is advocating for a change in leadership to empower artisans in Edo State. As the first female mechanic in Nigeria and Africa, by extension, Sandra has spent years breaking barriers and challenging stereotypes. Her Lady Mechanic Initiative has trained hundreds of women, many from disadvantaged backgrounds, to become financially independent mechanics.
The deputy director of Artisans for the Edo APC governorship election campaign council Aguebor Sandra said Obaseki’s administration is full of “I go” without action. I have been the major empowering the artisans community in Benin City without the governor’s payment. All agreements we had of training artisans and Libya returnees, he didn’t fulfil his own part of the deal. He only paid part, and to date, he has never paid the outstanding payment of the agreement.
Sandra’s dedication to empowering artisans is truly inspiring. Despite the governor’s refusal to support training programs, she has taken it upon herself to make a difference. She’s urging citizens to elect a new governor, Senator, Monday Okpebholo, and his running mate Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa who will prioritize the needs of artisans and recognize their value to the community.
