Nigerian billionaire businessman, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, shared that the petrol made by Dangote Refinery will be as good as the one sold in the US.
He mentioned that they are determined to be the best when it comes to quality. Dangote made these comments during a press conference on Tuesday morning, where he talked about the progress of Dangote Refinery’s petrol production. During the presentation, Dangote displayed a sample of the petrol in a bottle, holding it up for everyone to see. He explained, “Even though it may look a little different in color, this is the genuine product. With this new petrol, your vehicle engines will run smoother and last longer. Say goodbye to engine troubles that many of us used to face.” It definitely will not happen. The quality here will be just as good as the quality anywhere else in the world.
We will make sure that no one can surpass us in terms of quality. “Once we finish everything with the NNPC, our products will start being sold in the market,” he said. He explained that when Dangote Refinery’s fuel is available in Nigeria, it will help to see how much petrol the country really uses. This is because it will lower the need for importing fuel and also decrease the practice of round-tripping. He mentioned, “There’s a lot of round-tripping happening where people do paperwork, but the fuel doesn’t actually enter Nigeria. This refinery will help us see the real petrol consumption in Nigeria.” We will keep an eye on all the trucks carrying goods and we will do our best to keep track of the ships carrying cargo. Dangote Refinery will now provide polypropylene to Nigeria. Starting in October, Nigeria will no longer need to import polypropylene, which used to be around 250,000 tons. “We will no longer bring in polypropylene from other sources, we will meet the market’s demand completely.”
Dangote thanked President Tinubu and Nigerians for their contribution in providing petrol to the country after many years. He appreciated the efforts of the Nigerian people and President Tinubu for creating an environment that allowed them to succeed in giving energy to the nation for progress and prosperity. Dangote also expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for coming up with the idea of using Naira for crude and products, which will help stabilize the country’s currency. Right now, 40% of the demand for dollars in the market will be reduced, which will help stabilize the market. Today, we are celebrating and thanking God for helping us reach the stage of producing gasoline. Many people didn’t believe we could do it, but we did. I believe this refinery will have a big impact, not just in Nigeria, but also in sub-Saharan Africa. He said our ability can not only fulfill Nigeria’s needs but also meet the needs of sub-Saharan Africa at least
