The International Republican Institute (IRI) has paid a courtesy visit to the office of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Women Leader, Dr. Mary Alile Idele.
The visit was centered on building a strong partnership with the Office of the APC National Women Leader to further advocacy for increased opportunities for women in politics and to enhance their active participation in governance and leadership roles.
Speaking during the meeting, the IRI delegation commended Dr. Idele’s commitment to women’s empowerment and expressed the Institute’s readiness to collaborate on initiatives that will strengthen women’s voices within the democratic process.
In her remarks, Dr. Mary Alile Idele welcomed the IRI team and reaffirmed her dedication to championing the cause of Nigerian women in politics. She noted that the partnership with IRI will play a pivotal role in breaking barriers, advancing inclusivity, and ensuring that women are adequately represented in decision-making spaces.
“Women have the capacity and vision to contribute significantly to nation-building. With the support of credible partners like IRI, we will continue to create opportunities for women to thrive politically and strengthen democracy in Nigeria,” Dr. Idele stated.
The meeting underscored a shared vision between the APC National Women Leader’s office and IRI: to drive inclusive political participation and empower women to take up leadership positions across all levels of governance.
