Otti explained that his stance was based on governance realities rather than party considerations, stressing that he had no intention of contesting the presidency and saw no reason to oppose Tinubu’s candidacy.
However, the Abia chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) dismissed the move as politically motivated, cautioning the President against accepting what it described as a “poisoned chalice,” and alleging that the declaration was driven by political survival.
