Ahead of the Easter celebrations, Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has directed the early disbursement of April salaries and pensions for civil servants and retirees in the state.
The move, according to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, is aimed at easing financial pressures and enabling workers and pensioners to celebrate the festive period with ease.
The governor emphasized that his administration remains committed to the welfare of workers and senior citizens, ensuring timely payments despite economic challenges.
The statement noted that the early release of funds reflects Okpebholo’s people-centered governance and his desire to support citizens during significant religious occasions.
It added that the state government will continue to prioritize workers’ welfare and uphold fiscal responsibility in managing public resources.
