The governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has submitted a proposed budget of N3 trillion for the 2025 fiscal year to the House of Assembly.
He referred to this budget as the ‘Budget of Sustainability,’ emphasizing it as a plan for resilience and shared prosperity for the people of Lagos.
The budget is structured around five key pillars: infrastructure sustainability, economic diversification, social inclusion, human capital development, and environmental sustainability, along with governance and institutional reforms. It allocates N1.239 trillion (41 percent) for recurrent expenditure and N1.766 trillion (59 percent) for capital expenditure.
