Edo State Announces Ebojele as New CPS, Itua Awaits Reassignment

The Edo State Government has announced the appointment of Dr. Patrick Ebojele as the new Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Governor Monday Okpebholo.

Dr. Ebojele, who previously served as a lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, succeeds Mr. Fred Itua.

In a statement issued on Thursday and signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor, the government confirmed that Governor Okpebholo has approved Ebojele’s appointment.

According to the statement, Dr. Ebojele is an accomplished journalist, administrator, researcher, and academic with an impressive professional background spanning media, public affairs, and education.

His journalism experience includes serving as Edo/Delta Correspondent for Channels Television, and working with New Nigerian Newspaper, Champion Newspaper, and Comet Newspapers.

The government noted that the appointment underscores its commitment to strengthening communication and ensuring clearer, transparent, and effective information flow between the administration and the people of Edo State.

Mr. Fred Itua, the outgoing CPS, will be reassigned to a new role to be announced later. The government also expressed gratitude to him for his service.
