APC National Woman Leader, Dr. (Mrs.) Mary Alile, has been honored with a prestigious award by Edo State Polytechnic, Usen, in recognition of her contributions to national development and women empowerment.
Speaking after receiving the award at the institution’s 7th Convocation Ceremony, Dr. Alile expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for his remarkable efforts in reviving the institution, which she noted had suffered years of neglect under previous administrations.
She commended Governor Okpebholo for the massive renovation works currently transforming the campus, including the upgrade of academic facilities, ongoing road rehabilitation, and significant improvements in students’ learning environment. Dr. Alile also highlighted the governor’s commitment to staff welfare, applauding him for clearing over ten months of salary arrears owed to workers of the institution.
The APC Woman Leader further praised the governor for aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in the area of education reforms. She emphasized that initiatives such as the student loan scheme are critical to ensuring that “every Nigerian student, regardless of background, has access to quality education.”
Dr. Alile dedicated the award to all women striving for excellence and expressed her commitment to continue championing education, empowerment, and national development.
