The Deputy Chief of Staff to the Edo State Government, Hon. Pius Alile, alongside the National Woman Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Mary Alile, were warmly received by the Hon. Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Godfrey Nnaji, at the official inauguration of the Senior Citizens’ Initiative Programme held in Enugu, the Coal City.
The event provided a strategic platform to engage with the people of the South-East, particularly women, on the need to work in synergy with the Federal Government to advance national development. Discussions also centered on mobilization and strategic planning ahead of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 political agenda.
Speaking at the occasion, Hon. Pius Alile expressed his delight at the impressive level of APC presence in Enugu and commended the warm reception accorded to the delegation by the people of the Coal City. He described the initiative as a timely intervention aimed at recognizing and empowering senior citizens while also strengthening grassroots political participation.
Dr. Mary Alile, on her part, emphasized the vital role women play in driving political and social change. She called on women across the South-East to align with the progressive agenda of the APC and support ongoing efforts to deepen inclusivity and national growth.
