Veteran Nollywood actor and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kenneth Okonkwo, has declared that the ADC remains the only genuine opposition party in Nigeria.
Okonkwo, who previously served as the spokesperson of the Labour Party’s Presidential Campaign Council during the 2023 elections, argued that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP) have become weakened structures that exist only on paper, without the capacity to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to him, while Nigerians are yearning for a formidable political alternative to the APC, both the PDP and LP have failed to offer credible opposition due to internal crises, lack of ideology, and absence of effective leadership.
“The ADC is the only party that still upholds true opposition values and is working to provide Nigerians with a credible platform for change. PDP and LP have been reduced to political appendages; they exist only in name, not in action,” he said.
Okonkwo maintained that the ADC is positioning itself to rally Nigerians who are disillusioned with the status quo, promising that the party would not betray the trust of the people if given the chance to govern.
