President Bola Tinubu has put forward the name of Engr. Abdullahi Garba Ramat as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).

Ramat, aged 39, is a seasoned electrical engineer and administrator, holding a PhD in Strategic Management among other academic qualifications.
Alongside his nomination, President Tinubu also named two new commissioners for the regulatory body: Mr. Abubakar Yusuf as Commissioner for Consumer Affairs, and Dr. Fouad Olayinka Animashun as Commissioner for Finance and Management Services.
These nominations are pending confirmation by the Senate. In the meantime, the commission’s acting chairman will continue in his role until the new chairman is officially confirmed.
