Edo State Governor Appoints Anto Lecky as Senior Special Assistant on Tourism

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has appointed Munirat Antoinette Lecky, widely recognized as Anto Lecky, as his Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Creative Economy. This appointment was officially announced in a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, and will take effect on June 23, 2025.

As a former contestant on Big Brother Naija, Lecky is anticipated to play a key role in enhancing the tourism and creative industries in Edo, particularly as efforts continue to promote the state’s cultural heritage, which includes the return of the Benin bronzes and new museum initiatives.

The announcement stated, “I am pleased to inform you that the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved your appointment as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Tourism and Creative Economy effective June 23, 2025. The compensation associated with this position will be in accordance with the existing regulations of the Edo State Public Service. Congratulations!”

Anto Lecky was a semi-finalist on Big Brother Naija, Africa’s most popular reality show. Before her new role, she worked as the Arts and Special Projects Lead at ElectHER, a non-profit focused on enhancing women’s involvement in governance. Additionally, Lecky served as the Programme Manager at Kunle Afolayan Productions Film and Television Academy and held the position of Head of Operations at Nigeria’s first private basketball league. She has also hosted a travel and food show called Sights of Flavours on DStv.

Currently, she is the Special Assistant on Digital and New Media to the Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Audu.
