Ex-Kogi Governor Idris Wada Dumps PDP, Joins APC Ahead of Nov. 17 Defection Rally

by Tunexreporters

Former Governor of Kogi State, Captain Idris Wada, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and is set to join the All Progressives Congress (APC). Credible sources within the APC confirm that top party leaders are putting finishing touches to preparations for his formal defection, scheduled to take place on November 17, 2025, at Muhammadu Buhari Square in Lokoja.

Wada, who served as the state’s third civilian governor from January 2012 to January 27, 2016, emerged governor after winning the December 2011 election. He succeeded Ibrahim Idris and handed over to Governor Yahaya Bello at the end of his tenure.
