The Edo State Government has condemned the killing of Eboh Enomwa and Stephen Imaghodo during a violent leadership tussle in Iyanomo Community, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area.
In a statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, on Monday, government announced that the matter is under investigation by the Special Security Squad (Operation Flush Out Cultists and Kidnappers) in collaboration with security agencies and community leaders.
On Saturday, a fact-finding team led by the Chief Security Officer to the Governor, CSP Osaro Roberts, and the Principal Security Officer, Okoh Saturday, visited the community to gather intelligence.
Addressing residents, the squad’s secretary, Barr. John Izegaebe, blamed the killings on a leadership tussle between two rival factions. He vowed that all culprits would be identified, arrested, and prosecuted, stressing that Governor Okpebholo has zero tolerance for crime, cultism, and communal clashes.
The government also expressed condolences to the bereaved families while urging community leaders to resolve disputes legally rather than through violence.
Residents of Iyanomo, who received the delegation with relief, commended the government’s swift response and appealed for sustained security presence to restore lasting peace.
