There were numerous areas that were previously inaccessible, but now travel is possible from Abuja to Kaduna, which was unthinkable before his administration took office.
Additionally, access to Birnin Gwari has improved, allowing people to return to their farms and revitalize the area. While we acknowledge that we’re not yet where we aspire to be, we see progress being made.
The President is dedicated to tackling the security challenges in the North West, and it is a continuous effort. Dealing with problems is often straightforward, whereas finding solutions is considerably more difficult.
In addition to these issues, the performance of our governors is contributing significantly to the influx into our party. Our governors are consistently working hard.
The party’s national chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, is uniting all party leaders across the nation to foster the improvements we are witnessing within the APC. We stand together as a family.
We must continue to collaborate and do everything we can to ensure the development of our people, strength of our party, and prepare for decisive victory in 2027. It appears, as it stands, that there is little to no competition from other political parties, especially in the Northwest.
Dr. Ganduje emphasized that the President is dedicated to advancing the North West, the broader northern region, and Nigeria as a whole. This commitment is evident through various intervention projects in infrastructure, agriculture, and social development throughout the North.
He pointed to the creation of the North West Development Commission as a strong testament to the President’s dedication to the region. The APC is gaining strength, unity, and national appeal as Nigerians recognize the President’s efforts and those of our governors.
In a recent BBC News Pidgin interview, Wike reaffirmed his loyalty to Tinubu and dismissed rumors about his intention to run in the 2027 presidential election, stating, “I will not contest. Why would I run against someone I’m supporting?” He added he is unaware of any opposition figures capable of challenging the President effectively.
Regarding the potential zoning of the PDP ticket to the South, he said, “Let them zone first. When the time comes, we’ll figure it out.”
Addressing his disagreements with Siminilayi Fubara, his successor as Rivers State governor, Wike expressed his ongoing support for Fubara, stating he still considers him a political son. “There is no conflict. He (Fubara) is my boy. Why would I fight him?” he remarked.
He emphasized he is only opposed to those who seek to unlawfully seize what they haven’t earned. “If you don’t overcome them, they’ll think you can’t,” he cautioned, noting that their shame stems from being defeated; they are the ones influencing Fubara.
