Nigerian artist Ayodeji Balogun, better known as Wizkid, has achieved a new Spotify milestone for the highest streams for a single song.
His recently released album, “Morayo,” has reached the top of the Apple Music Nigeria Chart, with all of its tracks performing exceptionally well.
One of the songs from the album, “Kese (Dance),” has set a record for the highest number of streams on its opening day in Spotify Nigeria, amassing 1.5 million streams. Another track, “Piece of My Heart,” also exceeded 1 million streams on its first day.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Wizkid’s album, titled “Morayo,” which means “I see joy” in Yoruba, is a touching homage to his late mother, Juliana Balogun, who passed away in August 2023. Released on November 22, the album features a diverse lineup of artists from various genres.
