Famous stand-up comedian, actor, and filmmaker Bright Okpocha, aka Basketmouth, has voiced his displeasure with the begging behavior exhibited by some of his peers in the entertainment field. In an interview on the CreativiTea Live with Linda podcast monitored by Tunexreportes he criticized those who resort to begging, arguing that it diminishes the worth of their work. He also shared a personal incident that left him feeling humiliated when someone threw money at him on stage.
Basketmouth highlighted the significance of collaboration between established artists and emerging talents, noting how sharing knowledge can foster growth. He urged his colleagues to engage with younger generations, expressing his readiness to share his platform and learn from them.
Additionally, Basketmouth recounted his struggles in securing funding for his upcoming film, ‘A Ghetto Love Story,’ mentioning that after two sponsors withdrew, he felt disheartened. However, he successfully raised N300 million in just 12 hours.
