Deputy Chief of Staff to the Edo State Government, Hon. Pius Alile, has thrown his weight behind the distinguished Senator representing Edo North, Comrade Adams Aliu Oshiomhole, describing him as a progressive leader who deserves a second term in the National Assembly.
According to Alile, Oshiomhole’s tenure in the Senate has been defined by progress, accountability, and bold representation of his people, contrary to the falsehoods being peddled by political mischief-makers.
“Comrade Adams Aliu Oshiomhole is synonymous with progress and development. He has represented the good people of Edo North Senatorial District with excellence—very vocal, articulate, and diligent in his oversight functions. He has consistently exposed rot in the system and earned national recognition as an experienced lawmaker,” Alile said.
He recalled that Senator Oshiomhole was recently named Senator of the Year by ThisDay/Arise TV, a testament to his outstanding performance in the National Assembly.
Alile, however, cautioned against the spread of what he described as “fake news” suggesting that Oshiomhole’s tenure has been a disaster, allegedly credited to an APC youth leader from Akoko Edo. He dismissed such claims as the handiwork of nitwits who do not understand the workings of the legislature.
“For the record, lawmakers are not handed cash for constituency projects. What they do is nominate or influence projects for their constituencies during the budget process. The actual funds are released to relevant Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) for execution. It is therefore misleading and mischievous to suggest otherwise,” Alile clarified.
He further emphasized that Oshiomhole has a lifelong history of defending the people’s interest—whether as President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), where he fought military dictators for the rights of workers, or as Governor of Edo State, where he transformed the state into a modern hub of development.
“Since becoming a Senator, Oshiomhole has continued to be the voice of the vulnerable, the voiceless, and the hoi polloi. He is not just a statesman, but a national and international hero whose name is already written in gold,” Alile stated.
The Deputy Chief of Staff concluded by stressing that detractors would ultimately be silenced by Oshiomhole’s achievements and that the people of Edo North will stand solidly behind him for a second term.
