Nigeria’s first female fighter pilot, Flight Lieutenant Kafayat Sanni, has once again achieved a significant milestone by being named the Best Allied Student and winning the Best Assistant Commandant Paper at the esteemed Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) in Accra.
These honors were awarded to her during the College’s graduation ceremony on Friday, which was attended by prominent military officials and dignitaries from across Africa.
Flt Lt Sanni first gained attention in 2019 when she became the Nigerian Air Force’s (NAF) first female fighter pilot after completing her training in the United States.
Since that time, she has piloted the Alpha Jet and conducted training missions on the Super Mushshak as an accomplished instructor pilot, helping to develop and mentor younger pilots within the NAF.
Her remarkable achievements at GAFCSC highlight not only her personal excellence and resilience but also Nigeria’s increasing leadership in regional defense and its commitment to gender inclusivity in the armed forces.
This achievement further illustrates the Nigerian Air Force’s strategic focus on human capital development under the visionary guidance of Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar.
