The Federal Government has announced that Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, will be observed as public holidays for Good Friday and Easter Monday, respectively.
Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, made the announcement on behalf of the government.
He expressed heartfelt congratulations to Christians nationwide on this festive occasion.
In a statement by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, Tunji-Ojo highlighted the significance of embodying the qualities of sacrifice and love demonstrated by Jesus Christ for humanity’s redemption.
He urged Nigerians to utilize the holiday period for prayers aimed at ensuring the country’s peace, unity, and stability.
The Minister reassured citizens of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s steadfast dedication to the Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to promote national growth and development.
He also encouraged Nigerians to spread love and goodwill to their neighbors through acts of kindness and generosity.
Finally, he wished all Christians a joyous Easter celebration and extended warm holiday greetings to everyone in the country.
