Hon. Pius Alile assures Edos in diaspora
The Deputy Chief of Staff to Edo State Governor, Hon. Pius Alile has told the Edos in diaspora that their fear about government looting state finances and spending wastefully, has been taken care of with the coming to power of Sen. Monday Okpebholo as Edo State Governor.
He gave this assurance in his meeting with members of Edo Parliament, United Kingdom, during their visit to him in Birmingham City.
According to Hon. Pius Alile, Governor Okpebholo has stamped his feet on the ground, and everyone working in the government of Edo State knows where he stands on the issue of corruption. He said that the governor is intolerant of corrupt practices, which had been the bane of development in Edo State in the last 8 years.
The Deputy Chief of Staff said that the Governor Okpebholo has redirected governance from the kind of consultancy which the immediate past administration used to siphon money by using people unknown to anyone in the state.
Hon. Alile said that instead of adopting a system that drains money that cannot be accounted for, Governor Okpebholo is inclined to using competent local expertise so as to ensure accountability as well as grow the economy of the State.
He told the Edos in diaspora to trust Governor Monday Okpebholo to utilise the resources of the state for the benefit of the citizens. On the basis of this, he asked them to support the State Government in its unwavering commitment to Edo people.
