Donald Trump has indicated that negotiations between the United States and Iran may resume within days, sparking renewed optimism about easing tensions in the region.
In a preview of an interview with Fox News, Trump suggested that discussions could restart in Pakistan “within the next two days,” though Iranian officials have not yet confirmed this development.
The president also struck an optimistic tone about the broader conflict, stating that the war is nearing its end despite ongoing military operations across the Middle East.
Backing this diplomatic stance, JD Vance revealed that the administration is pursuing a comprehensive agreement with Tehran. According to him, Trump aims to achieve a “grand bargain” that would settle longstanding disputes between both nations.
However, Iranian President rejected Washington’s approach, warning that any attempt to force Iran into submission would ultimately fail, highlighting the persistent divide between the two sides.
At the same time, military pressure appears to be increasing. Brad Cooper, head of US Central Command, said a US naval blockade has effectively shut down Iran’s economic trade routes. He noted that several vessels attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz were turned back, with at least one reversing course in the Gulf of Oman.
Elsewhere in the region, Israel has intensified strikes against Hezbollah positions in Lebanon following recent talks with Lebanese officials in the United States.
In retaliation, Hezbollah has launched about 30 attacks targeting northern Israel, according to Israeli sources cited by AFP.
Overall, the situation reflects a delicate mix of diplomatic efforts and military escalation, as the US seeks dialogue with Iran while maintaining strong pressure on both Tehran and its regional allies.
