The Rivers State House of Assembly has given unanimous support to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office.
During its 37th Legislative Session on Wednesday, the Assembly said its endorsement was a recognition of the many Federal Government projects initiated in the state under Tinubu’s administration.
The resolution, which was signed by 26 lawmakers, was presented at plenary by the House Leader, Major Jack (Akuku-Toru).
The legislators explained that their vote of confidence was necessary to ensure continuity of development efforts. They also recalled the President’s intervention during the state’s recent political crisis, describing it as a timely and fatherly act that helped restore peace.
The members further praised Tinubu for offering key appointments to prominent Rivers indigenes, noting that such gestures have strengthened the state’s relationship with the Federal Government and boosted political morale.
In his remarks, Speaker Martin Amaewhule (Obio/Akpor I) hailed the President as a compassionate leader focused on stabilising and growing the nation. He applauded Tinubu’s economic policies, saying they have been impactful and citizen-centered.
The Assembly also pledged to mobilise grassroots support for the Renewed Hope Agenda and reaffirmed their loyalty to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
