The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State has noted with concern a statement attributed to some party stakeholders, suggesting that the State Chairman, Jarret Tenebe, assured aspirants of automatic tickets for those who contested in the last Local Government elections.

For the record, at no time did the Chairman make such a promise. His position was simply a reaffirmation of the APC’s long-standing principle of rewarding loyalty and hard work. This reward system ensures that members who have consistently contributed to the growth and success of the party are recognized and given due consideration whenever opportunities arise.
This principle should not be mistaken as an imposition of candidates or a circumvention of the party’s constitutional processes. Instead, it underscores the APC’s unwavering commitment to fairness, internal democracy, and appreciation of members who stood firm in advancing the party’s interests.
It is natural that those who labored with the party during challenging times can expect recognition, while those who either worked against the APC or failed to support its cause should not expect to benefit from the party’s reward framework.
The Edo APC, under the leadership of Senator Monday Okpebholo, remains steadfast in upholding transparency, inclusivity, and democratic values as enshrined in the party’s constitution.
We therefore call on all members and stakeholders to disregard any misinterpretation of the Chairman’s remarks and instead remain focused, disciplined, and united as we prepare for the upcoming elections.
The APC in Edo State continues to operate as one indivisible family, guided by respect for our structures, loyalty to our members, and fidelity to our constitution.
