Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has resigned from his role.
An anonymous source from the APC national headquarters, who is not authorized to discuss the matter, indicated that the National Working Committee (NWC) will soon announce an acting chairman. As of Friday, details about his resignation were not fully clear.
However, a reliable insider confirmed to our correspondent, “Yes, Ganduje has stepped down, and most of his personal items have already been removed from the APC national secretariat. The NWC will be making an announcement soon regarding an interim replacement.”
During a visit to the APC national headquarters in Abuja, our correspondent observed groups of party supporters gathered and discussing the news while waiting for official word from the NWC. Efforts to contact APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka for confirmation went unanswered, as he did not respond to calls.
In a related post on Friday, Bashir Ahmad, a former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, announced on X that “the National Chairman of our esteemed party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has resigned from his position, effective immediately, as confirmed by various sources.
The former National Chairman will be temporarily succeeded by one of the national vice chairmen until a permanent chairman is elected at the national convention set for December 2025.”
