Senator Ben Murray-Bruce Hails Tinubu’s Leadership, Joins APC for “Progress, Not Politics”

Senator Ben Murray-Bruce has declared his support for President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying he believes the President is steering Nigeria in the right direction.

Speaking on his decision to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), Murray-Bruce said he had known Tinubu since 1998 and was well acquainted with his mind, courage, and conviction. He noted that Tinubu was not driven by public applause but by results, adding that his leadership was guided by intellect and determination.

According to the senator, Nigeria, for the first time, has a president who truly understands finance and views the economy as a living system that must be disciplined, deregulated, and allowed to thrive. He explained that although the current reforms were painful, they were laying the foundation for future prosperity, moving the country toward a free-market economy that rewards hard work and innovation rather than dependency.

Murray-Bruce also commended the administration’s security and economic efforts, stating that the appointment of the National Security Adviser had redefined the nation’s safety architecture and that insecurity was being gradually dismantled. He added that the Central Bank, under professional management, was stabilizing the economy, rebuilding confidence, and restoring the dignity of the naira.

The senator further observed that Nigeria’s foreign policy had regained international respect, while the deregulation of the fuel supply sector had ended the recurring humiliation of fuel scarcity. He claimed that investments were returning and that the world was beginning to notice Nigeria’s resurgence.

Highlighting Tinubu’s infrastructural achievements, Murray-Bruce described the President’s projects—ranging from extensive road networks to modernized ports, airports, and housing schemes—as the arteries driving national growth and opportunity.

Acknowledging the hardship many Nigerians still face, he urged citizens to remain patient, noting that reform often comes with sacrifice but ultimately leads to national rebirth.

Murray-Bruce concluded by affirming his belief in Tinubu’s vision, expressing optimism that Nigeria would experience phenomenal growth by the end of the President’s eight-year tenure. He said his decision to join the APC was motivated by a desire for progress and reform, not by political ambition.
